Open the class attendance calendar
- Step 1. Open Students → Class Attendance.
- Step 2. Choose a class, or use the all-classes overview to check today’s expected registers.
- Step 3. Select the month and inspect the status key. Use Missing days to focus on gaps.
- Step 4. Open a day to review the whole-class register, not just a single pupil.
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Confirmed | The register has been reviewed and confirmed. |
| Incomplete | Work was started or saved as a draft but not confirmed. |
| Not started / not recorded | A register is missing; it is not proof of absence. |
| Unavailable | The school reviewed the gap but could not recover the source record. |
| Other day | Check the detail: it may be a weekend, holiday, break or outside the applicable period. |

Prepare earlier attendance from real records
- Step 1. Use the preparation/history action when earlier attendance is outside the pupil’s recorded class dates.
- Step 2. Confirm the class, academic year and each pupil’s actual class start date.
- Step 3. Save the corrected historical eligibility through the authorized workflow.
- Step 4. Return to the appropriate earlier school day and enter the statuses from the paper or other source register.
- Step 5. Add the explanation requested, confirm the day, then recheck the class calendar.
Check attendance before reports
Review missing days across the report period before preparing reports. Report attendance distinguishes recorded statuses from unrecorded days. A parent’s attendance view also depends on the school records and the child’s correct guardian link.
- Review holidays, school breaks and weekend policy if expected days look wrong.
- Use an explanation for unavailable days and reopen only with the correct review access.
- Keep the original evidence for historical corrections according to the school’s own records process.
