Use the pupil overview

Open the pupil from the roll or search. The overview brings together identity, placement, attendance, learning records and follow-ups according to your permissions. Use the dedicated editing actions to correct details. Changing a display name is different from changing the pupil’s class or status.

  • Check the school admission number alongside the system ID when identifying a child.
  • Use student groups or tags for operational groupings. A group does not enrol the pupil into a different class.
  • Keep guardian links accurate so one family can be linked to multiple children without creating a duplicate pupil.

Review dates, status and removal

The class start date determines historical eligibility for attendance. A school admission date records when the pupil joined the school. Adding either date does not create confirmed attendance registers.

  • Use the supported status-change action when a pupil graduates, transfers or leaves. Review the allowed transition and reason.
  • Deactivation and permanent deletion have different effects. Permanent deletion is blocked when dependent records such as marks, attendance, bills or loans exist.
  • For class changes, use the appropriate placement, transfer or promotion workflow and verify the resulting class roll.
