Prepare observation skills and ratings
- Step 1. Open the class’s subject setup and choose the observation assessment mode where appropriate.
- Step 2. Review or configure the subject’s skills and rating scale for the period.
- Step 3. Check that each rating label has the meaning staff intend to use.
- Step 4. Confirm the setup before asking teachers to record observations.
Enter ratings and comments
- Step 1. Open Observations & comments from the assessment workflow.
- Step 2. Choose the class, term and subject.
- Step 3. Record each pupil’s skill ratings based on observed evidence.
- Step 4. Add the subject comment where appropriate, then save.
- Step 5. Review any missing ratings and reopen a sample pupil to confirm the entries.
Verify the observation report
Preview a report to check the skill labels, rating meanings and comments. An observation subject is not a percentage-based subject, and a blank rating should not be treated as a numeric zero. Report readiness can require the configured ratings before approval.
